ARTIST STATEMENT

You won't know what's happening. Over time, ideas will start to come together, but only loosely. Paths continue to branch and you're left with more mystery than you started with.

This is what you can expect from my oil paintings. I've found that some of the best ideas come from not fully understanding something. The mind tries to understand, but creates something new instead of simply replicating the original idea. True creation lies in the listener, not the speaker.

I pull inspiration from the classics (in style, subject, and technique), but push them into a different aeon, into a different place, creating scenes we were never meant to see and will never be fully understood.

I do not ask you to believe. All I ask you is to pretend to believe. It will be easier.
