This painting started as an exercise in direct painting, but after seeing where it was going, I felt compelled to finish it. It isn't my typical process, but it's much faster (This took only a few hours). This marks the beginning of my search for a compromise between direct and indirect that will have the effect I want but not take dozens of hours.
